Visit the War Horse Loctions on Dartmoor
Since the release in January 2012 of the epic film War Horse, interest in the locations where some of the magnificent scenes where shot, specifically Dartmoor in Devon has been overwhelming.
Steven Spielberg spent several weeks on Dartmoor while making the film last year and was full of praise for the location, saying ’I have never before, in my long and eclectic career, been gifted with such an abundance of natural beauty as I experienced filming War Horse on Dartmoor.’
The film War Horse is adapted from a novel by Michael Morpurgo and tells the story of a young farm boy who signs up for military service during World War I in order to find his horse, Joey, after the animal is sold to the army and sent to France.
